Pitch Black---------------->

David N Twoy & the Wheat Brothers serve up a tasty edge-of your-seat sci-fi thriller. What's more intriguing than unresolved erotic tension and death? Vin Diesel plays it cool and gives a nicely understated performance as our anti-hero - doesn't say more than necessary, just gets the bloody job done, mate!

Direction: Great pacing
Writing: Our venal Captain, our corrupt cop, pleasure loving merchant, all the characters have nice turns, their ultimate fates making perfect sense - great transformations and great conflicts. I cared about these people and enjoyed seeing only some of them die.
Visuals: Left me paying the highest compliment of all, wishing I'd seen it on the big screen. The monster was fluid, reptilian and though we saw a lot of it, the presentation kept us surprised, a difficult achievement.

Alien fans take note - this movie will do nicely as a fix until the next installment and it reinforces what we all know deep in our hearts - that man is the most dangerous animal of all.
